American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE)
The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) works to bring all forms of renewable energy into the mainstream of America’s economy and lifestyle. ACORE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. with paying members from every aspect and sector of the renewable energy industries and their trade associations, including wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and bio-fuels, hydropower tidal/current energy and waste energy. With a focus on trade, finance and policy, ACORE promotes all renewable energy options for the production of electricity, hydrogen, fuels and end-use energy. (www.acore.org)

Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI)
The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (formerly ARI) is the trade association representing manufacturers of more than 90 percent of the air conditioning, heating and commercial refrigeration equipment installed in North America. An internationally recognized leader in developing standards for and certifying the performance of these products, AHRI is also a major advocate for the HVAC&R industry both domestically and abroad. Alliance for Sustainable Built Environments (ASBE)
Johnson Controls is one of six corporations pioneering this alliance, launched in March 2004, to educate business leaders about the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability throughout the workplace. (www.greenerfacilities.org)

Alliance to Save Energy (ASE)
The Alliance to Save Energy is a national nonprofit, bipartisan public-policy organization working in strategic partnership with businesses, government, environmental, educational, and consumer leaders to foster a more vibrant marketplace for energy-efficient products and to promote the efficient use of energy worldwide. American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE)
The ACEEE advances energy efficient technologies, policies and programs through leading edge research, analysis and advocacy to promote energy security, economic prosperity, and environmental protection. Association white papers and research have helped make the case for energy efficiency and sustainability over the past 25 years. New this year is the ACEEE Ally program, which we have joined at the top level (Pathfinder). (www.aceee.org)

American Institute of Architects – Committee on the Environment
The Committee on the Environment (COTE) works to advance, disseminate, and advocate design practices that integrate built and natural systems and enhance both the design quality and environmental performance of the built environment. The committee’s mission is to lead and coordinate the profession’s involvement in environmental and energy-related issues and to promote the role of the architect as a leader in preserving and protecting the planet and its living systems. COTE provides the AIA with knowledge about environmental issues and advises the Institute on environmental policy matters affecting the practice of architecture.

American Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization of 55,000 persons. ASHRAE fulfills its mission of advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education. Association of Physical Plant Administrators (Leadership in Educational Facilities)
APPA promotes leadership in educational facilities for professionals seeking to build their careers and elevate the value and recognition of facilities in education. APPA provides members the opportunity to explore trends, issues, and best practices in educational facilities through research, publications, professional development and credentialing. The association is moving toward a new, more inclusive name representing all leaders in educational facilities. (www.appa.org)

Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)
AEE is your source for information on the dynamic field of energy efficiency, utility deregulation, facility management, plant engineering, and environmental compliance. With a full array of information outreach programs from technical seminars, conferences, books to critical buyer-seller networking trade shows, job listings, and certification programs, AEE offers a variety of information resource tools. Building Owners and Managers Association
BOMA International is a primary source of information on office building development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics and technological developments. (www.boma.org

Business Round Table Climate RESOLVE
Members are committed to support U.S. President George W. Bush’s Climate Vision program, which targets a greenhouse gas emission reduction of 18 percent nationwide by 2012. (www.businessroundtable.org)

Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC)
The Canada Green Building Council seeks to accelerate the design and construction of green buildings in Canada, with a goal of certifying 100,000 commercial buildings by 2015. It is broad-based coalition of representatives from different segments of the design and building industry. Members are working to change industry standards to accelerate sustainable design and construction practices, and to develop best practices and other educational tools to support its members. Corporate Environmental Enforcement Coalition (CEEC)
CEEC is a cross-industry coalition where company legal, environmental and government affairs professionals can interact and benchmark environmental issues and policies. CEEC exchanges information regularly with U.S. federal and state regulatory agencies so that companies can better understand enforcement trends and regulators can better understand business concerns. Council of Great Lakes Industries (CGLI)
This group provides guidance to government regulators in the United States and Canada on watershed pollution control and regulation. (www.cgli.org)

European Building Controls Association (EU.BAC)
The European Building Controls Association promotes the use of automated controls across Europe. We participate in an Energy Efficiency task group lobbying to push for Performance Contracting and Energy Efficiency in Europe. See http://www.eubac.org/

European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE)
EEPE is a broad-based group of responsible companies, national associations and European associations active in the air-conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration industry. It was formed in September 2000 to contribute to the development of effective European policies to reduce green-house gas emissions from the use of refrigerants. http://www.epeeglobal.org/

Federal Performance Contracting Coalition (FPCC)
As part of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy, the Federal Performance Contracting Coalition focuses on advancing policies and programs for Federal Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC). (www.bcse.org)

Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI)
Johnson Controls is one of approximately 40 global companies that belong to GEMI, an organization dedicated to fostering environmental, health and safety excellence through best-practice sharing among members and the public. (www.gemi.org)

Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility (ICCR)

International Facility Management Association
IFMA is the largest and most widely recognized professional association for facility management. Globally, IFMA certifies facility managers, conducts research, provides educational programs, recognizes facility management degree and certificate programs and produces World Workplace, the largest facility management-related conference and exposition. National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency
A group of 60 diverse organizations, with DOE and EPA facilitation, developed a detailed national plan and recommendations to help the country achieve cost-effective energy efficiency. National Association of College and University Business Officials (NACUBO)
NACUBO represents chief administrative and financial officers, offering its membership resources, advocacy, and professional development programs in higher education, business and financial administration including. National Association of Counties (NACO)
NACO provides an extensive line of services including legislative, research, technical, public affairs assistance and enterprise services to United States county governments. It acts as a liaison with other levels of government, works to improve public understanding of counties, serves as a national advocate for counties and provides them with resources to find innovative methods to deal with their challenges. We are currently involved in a NACO Green Government initiative. (www.naco.org)

National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO)
The National Association of Energy Service Companies is a national trade association which has been promoting the benefits of the widespread use of energy efficiency for over 20 years. On behalf of its membership, NAESCO works to help open new markets for energy services. Johnson Controls is certified at the highest NAESCO level. (www.naesco.org)

National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)
The NAM’s mission is to advocate on behalf of its members to enhance the competitiveness of manufacturers by shaping a legislative and regulatory environment to help U.S. economic growth and to increase understanding among policymakers, the media and the general public about the vital role of manufacturing in America’s economic and national security. Professional Services Council (PSC)
The Professional Services Council (PSC) is the principal national trade association of the federal government’s professional and technical services industry. PSC is widely regarded as the most respected and effective advocate and resource on the full scope of legislative, regulatory, and business policy issues affecting the federal services industry. Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP)
The Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) is a highly recognized global organization dedicated to accelerating the global market for sustainable energy by acting as an international and regional enabler, multiplier and catalyst to change and develop sustainable energy systems. UK Green Buildings Council (UKGBC)
Our mission is of the UKGBC is to dramatically improve the sustainability of the built environment, by radically transforming the way it is planned, designed, constructed, maintained and operated. United Nations Global Compact
As a member of the United Nations Secretary General’s Global Compact initiative, Johnson Controls formally supports ten principles covering human rights, labor and the environment. (www.unglobalcompact.org)

US Conference of Mayors (USCM)
The U.S. Conference of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization for cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,139 such cities in the country today. Each city is represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the mayor. The association works to promote the development of effective national urban/suburban policy, strengthen federal-city relationships, provide mayors with leadership and management tools and creates a forum in which mayors can share ideas and information. United States Energy Association (USEA)
An association of public and private energy-related organizations, corporations and government agencies, USEA is the co-sponsor with Johnson Controls of the annual Energy Efficiency Forum in Washington, D.C. (www.usea.org)

United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Climate Leaders
Johnson Controls is a new member of Climate Leaders, a voluntary industry-government partnership that encourages companies to establish long-term, comprehensive climate-change strategies and set goals for greenhouse gas emission reduction. (www.epa.gov)

United States Green Building Council (USGBC)
This nonprofit group promotes buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. Johnson Controls helped the USGBC develop the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system for designing, constructing and operating green buildings. We have a corporate membership number that is accessible through the Global Energy & Sustainability site on the BE employee portal. (www.usgbc.org)

World Business Council on Sustainable Development
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a CEO-led, global association of some 190 companies dealing exclusively with business and sustainable development. The Council provides a platform for companies to explore sustainable development, share knowledge, experiences and best practices, and to advocate business positions on these issues in a variety of forums, working with governments, non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations. World Environment Center (WEC)
WEC is an independent, nonprofit, non-advocacy organization that works with the private sector, international organizations, nongovernmental organizations and academia to advance sustainable development. WEC presented Johnson Controls with its 2004 Gold Medal for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development. (www.wec.org)
